Service
Another means of growing in faith as adults is involvement in service opportunities. These experiences, particularly when they provide face-to-face encounters with brothers and sisters in need, enable us to touch the face of Christ in “the least” of our brothers and sisters.
Opportunities at/through St. Francis
- Grassroots Crisis Center
Grassroots provides supportive and professional 24-hour crisis intervention, suicide prevention, shelter, and outreach services to individuals and families experiencing a personal, situational, mental health, or shelter crisis. We are in need of servers and food items to be prepared and dropped off at Grassroots between 4:25-4:50. Please sign up here to serve! - St. Benedict
Our sister parish, St. Benedict in Baltimore, provides bags of groceries to many in need on the 4th Saturday of every month. St. Francis is partnering with them in this ministry. Volunteers are needed to help bag and distribute the food. In addition, volunteers are needed for grounds clean-up. If you would like to volunteer, please sign up here! - Living in Recovery
Living in Recovery is local nonprofit committed to helping men and women reclaim their lives and break the cycle of addiction-rehab-relapse by combining affordable housing free of alcohol and drugs with peer support and a climate of personal accountability. As a show of support and encouragement for participants working to recover from addiction, volunteers are invited to provide a Sunday night dessert and packed lunches for the start of the work week for the 15 residents of the Living in Recovery group home. To volunteer, sign up here!
